Sorry I haven’t written for a while on this blog but I was very busy with a big project. Unfortunately, it’s not yet finished so I’ve decided to make a smaller one to keep you up to date with the latest projects I have in mind.
This is a very simple tutorial that if you follow exactly you’ll get a gorgeous pearl bracelet that you can easily wear with any outfit.
It’s not that I want to brag, but sometimes the imagination just hits me in the head. This is just what happened a few months ago when I attended a wedding. I bought a gorgeous pink dress that I could not wait to wear. The picture does not show its whole splendor, but it stoled my heart as soon as I tried it on. The only problem was it had golden straps and a waist band with colored textile inserts (yellow, green, blue and white). This combination may seem odd at first, but the designers made a bold choice and finally achieved a great product. But this article is not about that.
I don’t know if I ever told you, but I’m a big fan of the Two Broke Girls show. Simply the idea of two girls with completely different characters that can live together and even launch together their business seems like an inspiration to me.
Surely everyone who watched at least one episode noticed the beautiful necklace that Caroline always wears. Of course I laid my eyes on it and I decided to made one.
I write this article with a delay of several weeks. I already said I became a lazy person lately, but I am trying to change.
A good friend asked me a few months ago if i can make her a bottle pendant. Of course I had other things to do and I forgot. But reminding me that her birthday is coming soon, I decided that besides the present itself, I should make her the pendant she desired.
Today when I looked through the phone, I found this picture and decided to teach you how to make this lovely bottle pendant.
To my surprise, not many people had heard of polymer clay. I won’t give you the definition of polymer because it’s very hard to explain, but all you need to know is that the commercial polymer clay, which is used in jewellery, it’s a paste-like play-doh. But this has something different from a normal dough: in certain conditions, it hardens until you get something like plastic consistency.
Any woman knows that the secret to a great outfit are the accessories. But not everyone knows how to do this, so nowadays you can find all sorts of bling-bling in the the market, so you won’t have a problem with accessorizing your daily outfits.
Today I decided to show you a tutorial on how to make this lovely book necklace. In fact this mini – book should not necessarily be attached to a necklace. It can be transformed into earrings, a key chain or you can easily attach it to your bag handle to give it a plus of personality.
The idea for this bracelet is not mine. I admit , it was more an imitation. And I will explain you why.
Talking with a friend the other day he told me that if he would come to see what I have around the house, he would surely throw alooooot of things.
I am convinced that this is so, but for me they all have a utility at one point.
And as we stood there talking, I was playing with a soda can and I was thinking what could I make from it to demonstrate him that not everything should be discarded. I did not come up with any idea in my head so I decided to look for one on the internet. I found a few pictures, but nothing to my liking.
Then I came across a picture that just fascinated me: a pop tab bracelet. It was not what I was looking for, but I began to ” unravel ” the picture and try to figure out how it was made.
Not having multiple pop tabs, later I discussed the project with my husband and what do you know? He had a few pop tabs laying around the house( god knows why … ) .
And earlier today I got to work.
It didn’t take me very long and I promise that when I will master the technique I will make a tutorial to teach you.
For it I used 20 pop tabs, but this depends on your wrist, and almost a meter of ribbon.
I’m already working on pop tab bracelet No. 2.
Cannot wait to post pictures of the upcoming ones.
I love autumn because it brings us so many fruits, I love winter cause it’s the giving holiday and I adore spring because that’s when all the trees bloom and the town is full of different scents.
But I can truly say that my favorite season is summer.
Yes, I know it’s unbearably hot.
Yes, I know it’s the loudest season.
But summer has that something special that fills my heart with happiness every year: the seaside. I look forward walking down the beach, feeling the wet sand under my feet, run towards the waves or just relaxing under the sun.
First of all, I have to explain to you what a “martisor” is.
Martisor is an old Romanian fest celebrated on March the 1st, which according to the old calendar was also considered as the beginning of the new year. In fact “martisor” is actually a red and white string that people in my country attach to their clothes and wear it till the end of March when we tie it to a fruit-tree. It is said that if a dove comes and picks it up, you will have love in your live all year long.
Nowadays we tie that string to almost everything and so we can call it our “martisor“. Usually it is a brooch or just a simple trinket. In some regions of Romania, women give it to men. But in my region, men give it to women. But we all love to share our love and so now both women and men show their appreciation for somebody by giving something symbolic on this beloved holiday.
And because I admit I am a child inside, when this little trinkets appear on the market I am like a kid inside a candy shop.
To me not only snowdrops mark the beginning of spring but also the lovely trinkets that you can find anywhere in this holiday’s eve. Million models in different colors, available to all of us. It usually takes me forever to choose the perfect “martisor” that I give people close to me.
